How do I clear the cache on a Chromebook?

Clearing the cache on a chromebook solves multiple issues and allows devices to run smoothly. Follow the below procedures to clear the cache.

  1. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the chrome browser.

  2. Hover over "More Tools"

  3. Select "Clear Browsing Data"

  4. Select the time range from the dropdown menu at the top to be all time. Check or uncheck parts of the data you want cleared.

  5. Click "Clear Data" If you toggle over to the Advanced section of the window, you will also have the option to clear passwords and other sign-in data.

How do I make sure my Chrome is operating in the most up to date version?

Updates will require you to restart your chromebook.

  1. Tap the box in the lower-right corner of the chromebook near the battery symbol.

  2. Click on the Settings dial (cogged wheel).

  3. Scroll down the left list and select "About ChromeOS."

  4. Click on "Check for updates." If needed, select update. When update is finished processing, select restart.

    1. If update is not needed, a blue check and "Your chromebook is up to date" will appear.
