Please read the information below carefully. Some procedures and expectations have been updated for 5-8
GRADING
Points will no longer be given for watching the videos (Warmup & Instruction) in Edgenuity.
Edgenuity grading: assignment = 10 pts; quiz = 20 pts; and test = 50 pts
Expect to be graded on other assignments completed in class or through Google Classroom.
No Assignment retakes in Edgenuity - you may retake the assignment, but your score will not be changed.
In Math, you must show work to earn full points.
iREADY
45 minutes in reading AND 45 minutes in math, in addition to a passed lesson in each subject, is still required for a possible 20 points weekly.
A maximum of 50/20 extra credit points will be rewarded (3 extra lessons per week) in math and/or reading.
The first I-Ready diagnostic test will be taken at home on a specific date/time (TBD).
You will be required to come to Owl Tech for the second & third I-Ready diagnostic tests. We will share those dates with you as soon as possible.
GUIDED NOTES
ALL guided notes will be completed DIGITALLY this year.
Reminder: all guided notes should be completed BEFORE your quiz and turned in through email. .
ENCORE (ELECTIVE) CLASSES
Encore classes will begin next Monday, August 12th.
We will discuss your Encore class with you next week.
ATTENDANCE
All attendance-related information should be sent to Mrs. McIntosh: mcintoshc@scsc.k12.in.us, such as absences, doctor’s notes, etc.
Here are some frequently asked questions about Edgenuity for high school:
How can I track my child's progress? Parents can sign up for the Parent Portal to track their child's progress.
Are Edgenuity classes worth credit? Yes, Edgenuity classes are worth either .50 or 1.0 credit.
Does Edgenuity offer electives? Yes, Edgenuity offers some electives, but it doesn't offer hands-on or vocational classes.
Will Edgenuity appear on my child's transcript? No, Edgenuity classes are similar to those listed in the child's home high school course catalog.
How can students work faster on Edgenuity? Students can pass pre-tests to skip content they already know.
